Description

Black-tailed godwit have returned to the Netherlands for the breading season from Africa where they have spent the winter. This bird represents the situation of wetland fowl in the Netherlands; there numbers are reduced due to climate change and mono-culture of our grasslands. Also the numbers of predators like fox and martens have increased due to wildlife protection measures.
